The upcoming 10th annual Beit Halochem Canada, Aid to Disabled Veterans of Israel “Courage in Motion” (CIM) bike ride celebrates and recognizes the significant contribution made by the more than 51,000 men and women who have been wounded while defending the State of Israel.
CIM 2017 will take place October 22-26 in Israel. Cyclists will ride 50-120 kilometres per day alongside Israel’s disabled war veterans and victims of terror. Each international rider must pay a registration fee (before June 1: $1,450 for past riders, $1,500 for new riders and $1,100 for volunteers; from June 1: $1,600 for all riders and $1,100 for volunteers). Each international rider also must raise a minimum of $3,000; each international volunteer must raise a minimum of $1,000. Cyclists who bring in a single corporate sponsor at the $3,600 level are still obliged to raise an additional minimum amount of $1,000 beyond the corporate sponsorship. Riders and volunteers are also responsible for their own airfare and accommodation outside of the ride dates.
Beit Halochem Centres in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Nahariya and Beer Sheva ensure that the injured and their families receive the help they need and deserve in order to return to productive and fulfilling lives.
Funds raised during Courage in Motion primarily finance rehabilitative biking programs at Beit Halochem Centres, in addition to physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, therapeutic devices, specialized equipment, sport coaching and cultural activities.
